About SpartyBall

This annual tradition brings together Michigan State University alumni, friends and fans for an evening of fun, reflection and philanthropy. For more than a decade, the MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago has built SpartyBall into the best Sparty Party around.

Spartyball 2019 is dedicated to the Roots of MSU — a reflection on where all Spartans begin their journey into adulthood. We hope to remind Spartan alumni of the roots they planted in East Lansing. Those roots allow us to celebrate the past and grow with the future. We may no longer be “by the banks of the Red Cedar,” but the roots we planted provide strength and memories to move forward as we celebrate Michigan State University.

Spartyball 2019 is wonderful chance to celebrate our Spartan roots and growth while also giving back the gift that each of us has received – a world class education from Michigan State University. We are thrilled to welcome you to help us celebrate Michigan State University’s 164 years of growth for Spartyball 2019 here in the Windy City.

The Venue

Chicago Cultural Center

Steeped in local history, the People’s Palace is a downtown institution that stretches from Washington to Randolph Streets, and Michigan Avenue to Garland Court. A Tiffany-stained glass dome, mother of pearl mosaics, a Carrara marble lobby — the Chicago Cultural Center’s dazzling interior is the perfect backdrop for an elegant evening to support Chicago Spartans.
The building was designed in the Classical Revival style, taking inspiration from the monumental structures of ancient Greece and Rome, and the finely detailed buildings of the Italian Renaissance.
With its historic interiors restored to their original grandeur, the Chicago Cultural Center is listed as a Chicago Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places.
